Abstract
En los últimos años se observó un gran crecimiento en la congestión de la red de transporte del Área Metropolitana de Buenos Aires. En el presente trabajo se buscará entender cuáles son los factores que determinan la elección de un modo de transporte. A través de un modelo de elección discreta logit multinomial se estimarán diferentes parámetros que permitirán caracterizar la demanda de transporte urbano en Buenos Aires. Se utilizarán los resultados obtenidos para calcular el impacto de una potencial expansión y reducción de tiempos de viaje en la red de subterráneos, y la aplicación de
una política pública que restrinja el uso del automóvil en el microcentro de la Ciudad.
In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the congestion of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area transportation network. In this paper, we will seek to understand which factors determine urban transport mode choice. Through a discrete multinomial logit choice model, the demand of urban transport in Buenos Aires will be characterized by estimating different parameters. The results obtained will be used to calculate the impact of a potential expansion and reduction of travel times in the subway network, and the implementation of a public policy that restricts the use of private car in downtown.
